Walter Reed National Military Medical Center, (WRNMMC) department of nursing services (DNS) leaders celebrated Medical-Surgical Nurses Week delivering donuts to the medical facility’s medical surgical nurses, Nov. 4.
“Delivering donuts is one of several ways we’re thanking our med-surg nurses for everything they do,” shared Beard. “These nurses are the foundation of nursing; matter of fact, they are the foundation and backbone of any medical facility.”
Beard says she and the nursing leaders make an effort to recognize the hard work and contribution of med-surg nurses year-round, not limiting it to the week-long observance.
