HERAT, Afghanistan - The Italian-led Provincial Reconstruction Team here, taught local nomads the principles of first aid and basic life saving this week.
Along with basic life saving, the nomads received training in emergency management, the correct use of medical equipment and general information concerning health risks. The two-day course also included practical lessons in first aid procedures, basic knowledge of anatomy and how to manage care for most common accidents.
During the graduation ceremony, Cmdr. Claudio Dei, Italian PRT commander, noted the cooperation provided by the Kucki nomads for the first time allowed the PRT to share BLS procedures.
