    MCBH PRESS RELEASE

MARINE CORPS BASE HAWAII - Marine Corps Base Hawaii (MCBH) is excited to extend an invitation to Oahu’s resident community and visitors for the 2022 Kaneohe Bay Air Show and open house on Saturday, Aug. 13 and Sunday, Aug. 14, 2022 aboard the Marine Corps base in Kaneohe.

The purpose of this event is to connect the local community with service members and their families and to better develop a shared understanding of the military and its mission. The air show and open house is expected to be one of the largest events in the state, historically welcoming well over 100,000 spectators.

“This is a great opportunity for Marine Corps Base Hawaii to show the community how much we appreciate living and working alongside them in Hawaii. Our installation is home to a Maritime Team that is on the cutting edge of future developments within the Marine Corps. Our team of military members and civilian employees are dedicated to protecting not only our country, but also our environmental, historical, and cultural resources. This air show and open house is the perfect opportunity for the community to spend time aboard the installation and gain a better understanding of what we do as part of the nation’s premier crisis response force,” said Col. Speros C. Koumparakis, commanding officer, Marine Corps Base Hawaii.

Headlining this year’s show is the U.S. Navy Blue Angels demonstration team. Those attending will get to see aerobatic performances from professional pilots and interact with military and civilian static displays throughout the event. Food venders, attractions and musical performances will also be a part of the air show and open house.

General admission is free to the public; however, preferred seating will soon be available for purchase through Marine Corps Community Services.
