Story by Tech. Sgt. James Bentley

    332d Air Expeditionary Wing

Helping agencies from around the 332d Air Expeditionary Wing held a 2.2 kilometer or 22 lap run to raise awareness of resources intended to prevent veteran suicides. The number was chosen because of the 22 veterans who commit suicide daily.

During the run, volunteers manned booths representing three helping agencies:
The 332d Air Expeditionary Wing mental health professionals who provide psychological care at the installation hospital.

The Chapel Corps, who provide religious services and who seek to bolster the four pillars of Airman fitness: mental, social, physical, and spiritual well-being.

Red Tail Shield, a peer-to-peer organization that provides support to Airmen in crisis outside of the official channels.
If you or a loved one has PTSD or thoughts of suicide, contact your local helping agencies or visit the Veterans Crisis Line at www.veteranscrisisline.net.
