CAMP HUMPHREYS, Republic of Korea – Pyeongtaek government officials were recognized in a ceremony, Aug. 26, for their efforts to support the lives of the Camp Humphreys community. The Camp Humphreys commander, Col. Seth Graves, presented certificates of appreciation to two Pyeongtaek city officials and two Pyeongtaek Korean National Police officials.
Jin Kyu Hwang and So Hee Yoon from Pyeongtaek City ROK-U.S. International Exchange Division received certificates of appreciation for resolving various civil petition issues between Camp Humphreys and Pyeongtaek City. In Geol Jang and Yoon Sang Kim from Pyeongtaek Police were recognized for settling traffic issues and deconflicting school bus stops obstacles around the installation.
During the ceremony, Graves thanked the individuals for their continuous support and willingness to work together. The base commander also expressed the hope for continuous collaboration between the city and Camp Humphreys.
“The lives of these two neighbors are ever interweaving,” said Graves. “We hope to bolster working relationships with local government officials for the wellbeing of both the citizens of Pyeongtaek and Camp Humphreys community.”
