JOINT BASE BALAD, Iraq -- Staff Sgt. Kiana Jordan of the 332nd Expeditionary Force Support Squadron is the 332nd Air Expeditionary Wing's Tuskegee Airman of the Week for, Nov. 15-21.

"Sgt. Jordan is doing excellent things for her fellow Airmen, making a great impression on all the new Airmen who come to our base," said Brig. Gen. Craig Franklin, 332nd AEW commander. After congratulating the new winner in front of wing leadership, General Franklin presented Jordan with the award and a commander's coin at wing headquarters, Nov. 27.

A personnel journeyman, Jordan devised an alternate accountability plan during a one-week deliberate crisis-action planning and execution segments outage. She also issued and reset common access cards during a team member's absence, enabling the continuous monthly output of 880 CACs.

A native of Portsmouth, Va., and deployed here from Robins Air Force Base, Ga., she also spent 10 volunteer hours cleaning and painting during a passenger terminal self-help project.

"I get job satisfaction in knowing that we have total accountability for all of our Airmen no matter where they are in the area of responsibility," said Jordan. "At home, it's about taking care of our Airmen's career on paper. Here it's about taking care of the people themselves."

She's also enrolled in a financial accounting class, contributing four credit hours toward achieving her bachelor's degree in business administration.

"Having goals while deployed is imperative," she said. "Then, have a plan to achieve them."

Jordan was nominated by her supervisor, Master Sgt. Christa Leach, NCO in charge of personnel contingency B-shift.

"Sgt. Jordan is always willing to help out without being asked -- going above and beyond what's asked of her," said Leach. "She is always looking for a better way of doing things to make things easier for the team."

The 332nd AEW Tuskegee Airman of the Week is open to Airmen between the ranks of E-1 and E-5 and is selected based on an Airman's on- and off-duty accomplishments.
