The Ghazni Provincial Reconstruction Team finished two alternate assistance projects, Nov. 12.
The projects were started during Operations 'Temida' and 'The Ray of Light," which were conducted by the 4th shift of Polish Military Contingent in Afghanistan.
The first opening ceremony, held in the Appeals Court in Ghazni, and included establishment of the library in the court.
During the ceremony, the Chief Justice of Ghazni province Attaullah Fekri addressed the crowd.
"I am very grateful and pleased that the Polish Provincial Reconstruction Team is supporting our new library. Thank you very much indeed, not only for books, but also for a copy machine and other equipment, which was delivered to our library."
More than 600 professional books were delivered to the library of the justice. This is Ghazni's first law library. All lawyers from province will take advantage of using competent literature.
"As the deputy commander of the PRT Ghazni I am glad about taking part in that marvelous ceremony. We have finished another project that was founded by Polish ministry of foreign affairs. I am deeply convinced our activities reinforced justice in Afghanistan."
Jacek Mrowiski, of legal affairs and a main coordinator of the project said "Conducting the project demanded cooperation with a few institutions. The specification of professional literature and their unpopularity explained the cost of books, are quite expensive. To avoid mistakes I compared prices with the Rule of Law Office CJTF-82 and also consulted prices at the local market. I must add that Polish embassy in Kabul was also very helpful."
The training for Department of Justice employees included 70 participants. All of them had opportunity to listen to lectures on subjects concerned the civil law, criminal law and international public law.
The main aim of the training was focused on raising qualification and skills of all personnel who are employed in the Department of Justice in Ghazni province.
The huge success of the event is because many employees from other districts took part in the Department of Justice employee training.
Colonel Jarosz added that in spite of a cost of the project it is important what these activities bring in the future.
The second operation called "The Ray of Light" was completed Nov. 12.
The purpose of the operation was improvement freely available to the source of energy for the people from Ghazni city. The day after the Polish Independence Day representatives of the PRT and a security platoon took the mission to the city power plant. That was just installed the second generator which had been bought within the confines of the assistance project donated by the Polish PRT.
"We got two new generators. The amount of electricity will definitely increase, and the citizens of Ghazni city can use the electricity 24 hours-a-day," said the Director of Energy Department Jan Mohammad.
Two power engines were delivered to the city power plant. They were placed in the power station building which had been built and paid by the authorities of Energy Department.
"There is a small access to the energy all over Afghanistan," said Jarosz. "This is a problem which must overcome the people in Ghazni city too. Citizens are forced to use power stations as long as a new national power program will be established."
The project was cofounded by Polish ministry of foreign affairs.
