About 27 active duty Air Force and Space Force recruiters assigned to the 311th Recruiting Squadron’s delta, echo and golf flights held their quarterly meeting, Feb. 11, 2022, at the Community Activity Center at Youngstown Air Reserve Station, Ohio.
“YARS is an easy spot for us to meet up,” said Master Sgt. Keaton Manshaem, the flight chief for recruiting assigned to the 311th Recruiting Squadron based out of Canonsburg, Pennsylvania. “It’s a centralized location for us, and we know you guys are accommodating and we appreciate it.”
The 311th RCS’s quarterly meeting was for the recruiters to get together, hash out ideas to stay ahead of trends and knock out any kind of training that needs to be done.
“We don’t have an active duty base in our AoR (Area of Recruiting),” said Manshaem. “We cover a good part of Ohio, but not all the way to Wright-Pat., most of Pennsylvania, some of West Virginia and a little bit of Maryland. So we don’t have an active duty base in our AoR, which is not normal. Usually, a recruiting squadron would. So here and Pittsburgh really are the only two bases in our AoR.”
Hosting active duty, guard or sister branches on the installation is one of many ways the 910th Airlift Wing embraces the Department of Defense’s “Total Force” concept.
