Yuma Proving Ground Commander (YPG) Col. Patrick McFall presented six YPG individuals with the Commander’s Safety Award for their quick reaction, teamwork and coordination with air traffic control and the YPG Range Operations and firing programs.
Amber R. Steele, Jeffrey McNierney, Hugo C. Rangel, Jose M. Ramos, Warren (George) LaRose, and Harley D. Hogan were recognized for their teamwork in allowing a commercial airliner experiencing a severe engine malfunction safe transit through YPG airspace and directly to Phoenix International Airport, thereby reducing airborne time and preventing a serious condition from becoming worse.
