Children participating in the USO Wisconsin’s Hike and Hunt event Nov. 17, 2021, at Fort McCoy, Wis., look at taxidermy mounts that relate to animals of Wisconsin.

The items were brought to the event by Natural Resources Specialist Kevin Luepke with the Fort McCoy Directorate of Public Works Environmental Division Natural Resources Branch. Dozens of people attended the free event.

In addition to Luepke and USO personnel supporting, police and conservation officers with the Fort McCoy Directorate of Emergency Services were on hand to help with the event.

For five years, USO Wisconsin has continued to expand its presence and support for thousands of service members, families, military retirees, and others every year at Fort McCoy, said Elizabeth Hazlett, operations and program manager for USO Wisconsin.

“Each month, military members and their families can take part in several events offered by the USO — whether virtual programs or in-person events,” Hazlett said. “Seasonally, we offer at least one family event."
