FORT GORDON, Ga. -- U.S. Army Cyber Command (ARCYBER) strengthened its partnership and advanced mutual security cooperation efforts in the information dimension in a meeting with the French liaison officer for the Army's Cyber Center of Excellence and cadets from the École spéciale militaire de Saint-Cyr (Saint-Cyr Military Academy) here, Oct. 26, 2021.
The engagement focused on ARCYBER's overall mission and concepts for achieving and maintaining information advantage. The cadets eagerly joined in discussions of information problem sets and enabling decision dominance, said ARCYBER's Maj. Joe Huitt.
The event is an extension of longstanding U.S.-French collaboration in cyberspace. In a July meeting with French Minister of the Armed Forces Florence Parly, Secretary of Defense Lloyd J. Austin III highlighted the value of that partnership in defeating malicious adversaries in cyberspace.
"I know you have also made cybersecurity a top priority, and that France has developed a cybersecurity strategy to mitigate risk and increase its capabilities," Austin said. "Our countries have a strong shared interest in protecting our critical infrastructure and that of our allies, including cyber infrastructure, and that's a foundation for our future cooperation in the area of technological infrastructure more broadly."
At the conclusion of the event ARCYBER presented the cadets with certificates of appreciation for their positive contribution to the academic exchange between the two nations.
