Trunk or Treat, Give Me Something Good To Eat!
Guys and ghouls lined up at Lanham Field to receive sweet treats at the third annual Trunk or Treat at Marine Corps Air Station Cherry Point, North Carolina, Oct. 22, 2021. Volunteers distributed candy from Halloween inspired trunks, while guests were treated to snow cones, a visit from Sparky the Fire Dog, and a trunk decorating contest.
Stephanie McPherson, Marine Aircraft Group 14 volunteer coordinator, came together with Marine Corps Community Services for the Trunk or Treat event. Children were able to show off their spookiest – or prettiest - costumes and engage with volunteers and their trunks.
“Seeing the kids dress up reminds me of when I was younger,” said Pfc. Anthony M. Clark, a motor vehicle operator with Marine Wing Support Squadron 271. “It really puts a smile on my face being able to see kids being kids.”
In the end, five trunks in the Trunk or Treat won $100 in unit funds and a $25 gift card to the Marine Corps Exchange.
