WASHINGTON — The deputy chief of naval operations for warfighting development released NAVADMIN 222/21 announcing the U.S. Naval Community College Pilot II program on Friday, Oct. 8.

The USNCC provides a naval-relevant associate degree education with stackable certificates for Sailors, Marines, and Coast Guardsmen while directly supporting Secretary of the Navy Carlos Del Toro’s strategic guidance released earlier this month.

According to NAVADMIN 222/21, all active duty enlisted Sailors, Marines, and Coast Guardsmen are eligible with first-term service members given priority. Service members who have already earned an associate degree or higher are eligible to apply for the certificate of naval studies.

“Our mission demands leaders who possess the highest intellectual and warfighting capabilities in order to confront the many dangers of a complex world,” said Del Toro in the One Navy-Marine Corps Team strategic guidance released this month. “The institutions of our naval education enterprise will work together to develop leaders with the warfighting rigor, intellectual dynamism, and innovative creativity to maintain strategic advantage against competitors and global adversaries.”

Active duty enlisted Sailors, Marines, and Coast Guardsmen can fill out an application on the USNCC website, www.usncc.edu. The first courses will start in January 2022.

The United States Naval Community College is the community college for the Navy, Marine Corps, and Coast Guard. To get more information about the USNCC, go to www.usncc.edu. Click on the student interest form link to learn how to be a part of the USNCC Pilot II program.
