Cpl. Hannat Diaz Collazos is currently serving at the U.S. Army Yuma Proving Ground Veterinary Clinic.
At the YPG clinic Diaz Collazos provides prevention care, management, treatment, emergency, and routine surgical procedures for government owned animals like working dogs and also pets of active duty and retired military members of the community.
You can say she goes the extra mile or in her case the extra 200 miles. Capt. Jessica Martinoff tells that Diaz Collazos has been proving weekly support to another veterinary treatment facility (VTF) in Phoenix Sunday through Thursday, “and still has the energy to perform her duties at YPG VTF diligently on Thursday when she returns.”
Martinoff adds, “She thus far has proven herself to be a remarkable asset to YPG's VTF, and I am excited to begin working with her as my clinic NCOIC.”
Diaz Collazos said, “I enjoy how different the day to day is in my occupation and how much there is still left to learn from my job after being in my occupation for six years.”
The Miami native said she enjoys hiking, bike riding, and traveling and plans to start working on her Bachelor's degree in forensic psychology.
