MOODY AIR FORCE BASE, Ga. – Moody Air Force Base began its 2021 Combined Federal Campaign, Sept. 20, 2021 for the CFC’s 60th anniversary.
The CFC allows federal employees, postal workers, retirees and contractors to volunteer or donate money to any of the charities listed in the CFC catalog.
“The CFC is one of the largest and most successful workplace fundraising campaigns in the world,” said Master Sgt. Bryan Palma, CFC project manager. “Since 1961, members of the federal community have contributed to charities through the CFC, giving more than $8.5 billion to help those in need.”
With more than 20,000 charities listed, the CFC is designed to promote and support philanthropy through safe face-to-face interactions and donations.
“Each year, a new donation goal is set, and the goal for Moody this year is $22,111.54,” said Master Sgt. Brooks Espy, CFC project officer. “For the 60th anniversary, there will be special contests within the CFC to recognize units that go above and beyond. We will be challenging each unit to push ideas to showcase Moody. The categories are: Best Use of Technology, Best Campaign Video and Best CFC Anniversary Photo.”
To donate, contributors can visit GiveCFC.org, download the new CFC Giving mobile app, or complete a paper pledge form provided by each squadron’s key worker.
“The CFC is important because it gives time and money back to the communities in which people serve and live,” Palma said. “Our communities, country and the world are faced with challenging times every day. The CFC and its contributions are a direct reflection of how it takes a campaign to (further) medical research, feed the hungry, shelter the homeless, save the environment and so much more.”
This year, the CFC will continue until Jan. 15, 2022. For more information about the campaign, contact your unit’s CFC representative.
