U.S. Marine Corps World War II veteran Lee Reed, 96, toured Marine Corps Air Station Cherry Point, North Carolina, July 2, 2021. Reed, who was present during the historical island hopping campaign on Saipan, Tinian, Okinawa and others, visited with multiple Marines from around the installation. Reed who was assigned to L Company, 3rd Battalion, 2nd Marine Regiment, 2nd Marine Division, spoke on topics such as his time in Parris Island, South Carolina, his time training in Panama, the Pacific Theater, and returning home after the war. Reed also recounted on his time in the Marine Corps and how it has changed his life in various ways.
