CAMP LEJEUNE, N.C. - Marine Raiders with Marine Forces Special Operations Command participate in an integrated training evolution with the Special Response Team, Provost Marshal’s Office, May 24-28, 2021.

Marine Raiders with a Marine Special Operations Team trained alongside Marines with the SRT to exchange small unit tactics in order to enhance mission readiness in an urban environment. The training consisted of urban reconnaissance, designated marksmanship, a small unmanned aerial systems demonstration, detainee handling and mission planning procedures.

“[The training] teaches everybody a perspective that they might’ve not had before.” said Sgt. Antonio J. Barcardi., SRT platoon commander.

Partnering with SRT Marines provides the MSOT with law enforcement integration in preparation for a partner of choice in future operations.

“The importance of integration training within the Marine Corps is so that way we can learn from each other and also be able to operate when we do go into combat and we understand each other’s language,” said a team chief with MARSOC. “We understand the way other units are going to be operating and we can also build those relationships so that way it’s not going to be the first time on the battlefield.”

This training allows MSOTs to refine basic and advanced team skills in a time-efficient manner which enhances internal communication and increases the adaptability of the team. The collaboration allows for MARSOC to establish a solid working relationship with the Fleet Marine Force, bolstering the integration and interoperability between conventional and special operations forces.

MARSOC units provides scalable, expeditionary Marine Raider teams worldwide to accomplish special operations missions assigned by U.S. Special Operations Command.
