FORT HOOD, TX -- The 1st Cavalry Division, Sustainment Brigade, Special Troops Battalion conducted a change of command ceremony at Cooper Field, May 14.
Lt. Col. Christopher Flores relieved Col. Seana M. Jardin as the Wrangler Battalion commander.
“I’m glad I got to take this journey with the Wagonmasters for these last 22 months,” said Jardin. “It was my honor to have served as a member of the Wagonmasters in the First Team.”
Since Jardin initially took command of the Wrangler Battalion, Fort Hood, and the world, has been faced with several enormous challenges.
“If you had told me when I took command that we would be managing the challenges of a global pandemic and upheaval on Fort Hood like we have seen over the last year, and a freak winter storm that would shut us down for over a week in the middle of the largest Warfighter exercise ever on Fort Hood, I would not have believed it,” said Jardin.
“This has been a challenging time to be in command, but I am so thankful to have been surrounded by this team,” said Jardin.
Jardin recognized her Soldiers for their accomplishments as well. She said that she wasn't the only one who faced all these challenges over the past year, but her Soldiers in the battalion had as well, and she said they rose to the challenge.
“I see you STB, I know who you are and what you do,” said Jardin. “I am a better sustainer, better leader, and a better person because of the time I spent with you.”
Flores, who takes command after serving as the III Corps Deputy G1, said ,” It is the greatest honor of my career to be standing here with this opportunity to lead american soldiers.”
