Logistics Specialist 3rd Class Petty Officer Sigourney Goldsmith, Training Support Center Hampton Roads (TSCHR) is proof that hard work pays off. While Goldsmith has only been in the Navy for three years, she is constantly looking for new work projects or processes to improve and conquer.
“During her tenure at TSCHR she has played a vital role in providing logistical supply support to 34 learnings sites,” said Kennieth Washington, TSCHR Comptroller. “She finishes every task that she is assigned and I know that I can always count on her.”
Goldsmith is a native of Mobile, Ala., wife and mother to two young boys. Between taking care of her family and a full time job, she is forever trying to improve herself both mentally and physically. Her goal is to obtain her Bachelor of Arts degree, Business Management, Strayer University this fall.
“In just a few weeks, Goldsmith has learned the Defense Travel System and to work independently, which is not easy,” said Washington. “Additionally, she played a critical role in the command audit and there’s no financial task that she’s been assigned that she couldn’t complete.”
Goldsmith attributes her success to her supportive close-knit family. “I was brought up to always do my very best and to take pride in my work,” said Goldsmith.
“While a junior Sailor, I know that I can depend on her to successfully complete assignments meeting all deadlines. She’s very meticulous often working well outside her rate and I am grateful that she is part of our team,” said Washington.
