Meet Sgt. 1st Class Manuel Rodriges

    Story by Sgt. Timothy Brokhoff

    U.S. Army Europe and Africa

Meet Sgt. 1st Class Manuel Rodrigez, the acting 1st Sgt. for the Timberwolf team, assigned to the 1-2 section. Deployed out of Germany, Rodrigez and his team have been working alongside NATO allies to observe, assist and provide feedback to our trusted and valued allies during Defender-Europe 21 and the exercises therein.
Rodrigez has worked with NATO allies in the past and understands the importance of continuously making our relationship stronger through interoperability.
“It’s amazing being here with them, especially as a 1st Sgt.” said Rodrigez, “I get to see the higher echelon and higher plans.”

DEFENDER-Europe 21 is a large-scale U.S. Army-led exercise designed to build readiness and interoperability between the U.S., NATO allies and partner militaries. This year, more than 28,000 multinational forces from 26 nations will conduct nearly simultaneous operations across more than 30 training areas in more than a dozen countries from the Baltics to the strategically important Balkans and Black Sea Region.
