Jordan- Chief Warrant Officer 5 Fred Hodges, Command Chief Warrant Officer for 3rd Medical Command Deployment Support at Fort Gillem Georgia, conducted a Warrant Officer Professional Development and educational meeting with the warrant officers at the Joint Training Center (JTC).
Initially, CW5 Hodges’ main mission was to conduct site surveys in Jordan, but he chose to add another mission to his trip, conducting professional development. CW5 Hodges sat down with fourteen warrant officers to mentor them and provide guidance.
“Show you care. Lead with compassion and just listen,” CW5 Hodges said. “If you know what you are doing and not just guessing, Soldiers will take the time to listen to you.”
CW5 Hodges spoke about making decisions based on knowledge rather than feelings. He challenges our forces to put 100 percent effort into guiding our Soldiers to the right position, based on their skills and strong points.
“Let us continue to build with the Noncommissioned Officer Corps, so we can assist the Officers with the expertise of our branch (Warrant Officers),” CW5 Hodges said.
CW5 Hodges is a Waterbury, Connecticut native and has a brother, Anthony Hodges serving as a CW3 in the Connecticut Army National Guard (CTARNG). It is only fitting that CW5 Hodges speaks and shares his knowledge and experience here at JTC, as the current Area Support Group is a CTARNG unit, the 143rd Regional Support Group (RSG).
