Col. Sean T. Boyette, Task Force 164 commander, and Command Sgt. Maj. Ronald J. Sachs, visited the State Logistics Response Center (SLRC) in Orlando, Fla., Friday, December 18, 2020, in order to visit the Soldiers that have been hard at work supporting the State’s COVID-19 response efforts.
The SLRC’s mission is to meet the logistical needs of Florida's healthcare workers and first responders while maintaining communication with the State Emergency Operations Center (SEOC) and partner agencies.
"The Soldiers at the SLRC are doing a great job helping the people of Florida and many of them have been serving here since March 2020," said Lt. Col. Roberto J. DeMarquez, commander of Task Force region 46. "They're all dedicated to ensuring that this COVID-19 response mission is successful."
Over 50 Soldiers are assigned to the SLRC, working to support missions tasked by the State Emergency Response Team (SERT). They also support requests for goods such as personal protective equipment (PPE), water, and medical equipment from Emergency Support Function (ESF) eight.
The 164th Air Defense Artillery Brigade assumed mission command responsibilities of the Florida Army National Guard (FLARNG) COVID-19 response efforts on December 12, 2020.
