U.S. Marine Cpl. Brianna Lake, a legal service specialist with Headquarters and Headquarters Squadron (H&HS), was recognized as the Service Person of the Quarter by the Havelock Chamber of Commerce’s Military Affairs Committee, Marine Corps Community Services and her chain of command at Marine Corps Air Station (MCAS) Cherry Point, North Carolina, October 27, 2020. Lake and her husband and former recipient of the Service Person of the Quarter award, Sgt. Donatien Lake III, are known inside and outside the installation for their tireless amount of volunteer work and dedication to child development.
Lake has accumulated an innumerable amount of community service hours with programs such as Havelock Parks & Recreation and Carteret County Humane Society. She also became a Security Augmentation Force squad leader and a coordinator for the Adopt-A-School Program for Headquarters and Headquarters Squadron.
“We don’t volunteer for the recognition,” Lake said. “We do it because we want to help our community, especially the children that make up the future. That’s why we volunteer within schools, churches, Fort Macon State Park and any place we can actively make a difference.”
