Resident advocates are the voice and the solution for
military members having issues with privatized housing at Ellsworth Air Force Base.

Resident advocates, advocate for issues that need fixing for military members housing, as well as bring up issues and potential changes to the Resident Council.

“A resident advocates goal is to make sure that all military members are living in safe and adequate housing as well as provide quick resolutions to issues such as leaks, mold, broken windows, pests, smoke alarms, monetary issues and other potentially life-threatening problems in the home,” said Becky Pisle, the 28th Bomb Wing privatized housing resident advocate.

Resident advocates not only provide assistance with solving monetary and life health safety issues, but also provide military members with a voice to get their issues and ideas heard through the Resident Council.

“The Resident Council is comprised of representatives from the three neighborhoods being Prairie View, Rushmore Heights and the Black Hills Estates with spouses from different military ranking members on the council, to propose suggestions that can improve all the communities of Ellsworth and disseminate information appropriately to their neighborhoods,” said Pisle.

The resident advocate is another voice of the base housing community as well as the voice of the Resident Council itself, with the advocate answering any council questions one might have and bring issues or ideas, straight to council members to be addressed and brought to Col. David A.
Doss, the 28th Bomb Wing commander.

The council’s ideas and plans will be brought forth to Col. Doss where he gets the final say if the idea will be put into motion or not.

Resident advocates make sure that all issues are being fixed quickly and appropriately as well as providing the voice for military members using the Resident Council to get their issues addressed and fixed.
