Defense Department Support to FEMA COVID-19       

Brig. Gen. W. Scott Lynn made a visit to Field Medical Station Edison in Edison, NJ today. He participated in two promotion ceremonies and, addressed the Soldiers of Urban Augmentation Task Force 452-1 during retrograde operations at FMS Edison, which began operations on April 11th. UAMTF 452-1 is headquartered in Milwaukee, Wisconsin and is comprised of Soldiers mainly from Wisconsin and Minnesota. Initially the FMS was staffed by UAMTF 452-1 personnel, with civilian medical personnel slowly integrated. While other Soldiers of UAMTF 452-1 augmented the civilian workforce at JFK Hospital in Edison, and University Hospital in Newark. Today, the FMS is fully staffed by civilians employed by the New Jersey Department of Health.
