    Baldwin takes over

    332nd Medical Brigade

    NASHVILLE, Tenn. — After serving as commander of the 345th Combat Support Hospital, Jacksonville, Fla., which included a year tour in Iraq, Col. Danny Baldwin will take over the 332nd Medical Brigade on July 19 in Nashville, Tenn.

    "I am a Soldier's commander," said Baldwin, "And my number one interest will be to take care of Soldiers to ensure that they are trained and ready for any mission that they may face."

    Col. Baldwin is a native of Roanoke, Ala., where he graduated from the Alabama Military Academy in June 1982. He was commissioned as a second lieutenant as a Signal Corps officer in 1982, and he earned his Bachelor of Science degree in physical education from Jacksonville State University in 1986.

    Baldwin continued his education to earn a Master's of Science degree in Special Education for learning disabilities in 1991, an add-on for behavior disorders in 1992, and administration in 1993 from Jacksonville State University. In 1995, he added on vocational education to his Masters at Georgia Southern University, Statesboro, Ga., and in 1997 earned an educational specialist degree in administration from Jacksonville State University.

    As commander of the 345th CSH, his unit was responsible for providing level III health care for US and coalition forces, as well as local nationals. His awards include the bronze star, three meritorious service medals, Army commendation medal, two Army achievement medals, three Army Reserve component achievement medals, national defense service medal, Army service ribbon, faithful service medal of Alabama, and active duty basic training ribbon of Alabama.

    "It is an honor and privilege to be selected as the next commander of the 332nd," said Baldwin, "I feel that I have the background and experience to command the Brigade into the new challenges we will encounter in the future."

    Col. Baldwin works as a related vocational instructor specialist in his civilian career. He works with vocational teachers concerned with special needs students in a high school in LaGrange, Ga. He is responsible for helping students transition from high school to the work force through working with public organizations and then arranging jobs for students once they graduate. Col. Baldwin is married and has two sons.
