MCGHEE TYSON AIR NATIONAL GUARD BASE, Tenn. -- The U.S. Air Force Public Affairs Consolidation Training held at the I.G. Brown Training and Education Center on Mcghee Tyson Air National Guard Base in East Tennessee, February 3 - 14, supported Airmen in their career field merger between photojournalists and broadcasters.

The Airmen received hands-on training in broadcasting and photojournalism, which included camera basics, production, writing, photo editing, and archiving.

"This workshop was created to help Guard and Reserve members complete the module training that leads them up to their capstone," said U.S. Air Force Master Sgt. Jeffery Curtin, workshop coordinator. "We are well aware that one weekend a month is not enough time to do these modules."

Sergeant Curtin said that their goal included moving Airmen through the 13 training modules within the week's time, or more than a year's worth of drill-status training.

"Everything that I have learned, I have learned in an environment that is positive and helpful, and definitely applicable to my career field," said U.S. Air Force Staff Sgt. Ceasar Cordero, student.

Coordinators said that another workshop at TEC, March 9 - 13, is scheduled and encourage public affairs Airmen to speak with their supervisors to sign up.
