MARKSVILLE, La. — Louisiana Army National Guard Soldiers from the 1020th Vertical Engineer Company, 527th Engineer Battalion in Marksville, La., recently participated in the Paragon Casino Employee Appreciation Day in Marksville, La.
The LANG rock wall was set up to challenge and inspire the employees to reach for new heights.
Tiffany Tumminello, a VIP representative for the casino, was one of the employees who attempted the climb.
"This was my first time to do this," the Marksville native said. "My arms are tired, but it was fun. Ringing that bell was such a huge accomplishment for me and I really enjoyed it."
The local Guardsmen provided community goodwill and thanked the employees of Paragon for the support they continue to show the LANG.
The 1020th is an active part of the communities in Avoyelles Parish.
"We support the community and show that we are here for them," said Spc. Richard A. DeCuir of Marksville, La. "The community and surrounding areas show their support to us by inviting us to events like this."
