PENSACOLA, Fla. – Information Warfare Training Command (IWTC) Corry Station celebrated the positive impacts and legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. (MLK) in the Corry Station Chapel onboard Naval Air Station Pensacola Corry Station, Pensacola, Florida, Jan 23.

IWTC Corry Station’s Multicultural Committee hosted the ceremony with Cmdr. John Ismach-Eastman, command chaplain, opening the ceremony with a few popular quotes and a prayer. Yeoman 2nd Class Daniel Jimenez, Cryptologic Technician (Technical) 1st Class Keeshonna Houston, and Cryptologic Technician (Technical) 1st Class Daniel Clark led the program with numerous quotes, audience participation, and a crossword puzzle.

“Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. is widely regarded as America’s preeminent advocate of nonviolence and a pivotal leader of the Civil Rights Movement,“ shared Yeoman 2nd Class Daniel Jimenez, an administrative clerk at IWTC Corry Station.

MLK was instrumental in America's Civil Rights Movement, and continues to be celebrated over 50 years after his assassination for his non-violent approach to embracing peace and togetherness in American society.
MLK’s birthday was first designated a national holiday in 1983 and first celebrated in 1986 serving as an annual reminder of his contributions and dedication to a more just society with equal rights for all people. MLK will forever be remembered for his contributions to the Civil Rights Movement and to the United States of America.
