    PFC Ashunteia' Smith is currently deployed in support of Atlantic Resolve. PFC Ashunteia’ Smith is currently a Mass Communications Specialist with the 5th Mobile Public Affairs Detachment out of Joint Base Lewis-McChord, Washington. This is her first military assignment after graduating DINFOS on November 9, 2018, as a 46Q and was stationed with the 5th MPAD. Shortly after arriving PFC Smith was assigned to one of the teams deploying to Europe on a nine-month rotation in support of Atlantic Resolve. During the rotation, PFC Smith provided content creation capabilities for missions in support of U.S. Army Europe. Some of the missions PFC Smith provided coverage for include Decisive Strike 2019, Saber Junction 2019, the 2nd Armored Brigade Combat Team, 1st Cavalry Division Convoy Operations, and the NATO Force Intervention Unit Lithuania NATO day, covering large-scale multinational exercises. During these exercises, PFC Smith was recognized multiple times to include Army Times featured photos, DoD featured photos, National Guard Magazine, and international news outlets. While on rotation, she also volunteered at local Morale, Welfare, and Recreation events. Prior to being stationed in JBLM, PFC Smith attended Basic Combat Training at Fort Jackson, South Carolina, and Advanced Individual Training at Fort George G. Meade, Maryland.

    Prior to enlisting in the Army, PFC Smith attended East Arkansas Community College and Southern Arkansas University, from Fall 2016 to Spring 2017, earning 53 credit hours towards a Criminal Justice Degree. While attending Forrest High School in Forrest City, Arkansas, she attended East Arkansas Community College to gain college credits before graduating. During this time PFC Smith also volunteered to tutor students during an afterschool program, was Vice President of her graduating class National Honor Society, and graduated in the top 10 of her graduating class. She also ran track and was on the Cheerleading Squad, while also coaching cheerleading for her local middle school.
