    PFC Laurie Ellen F. Schubert is currently deployed on a nine-month rotation part of Atlantic Resolve in Europe. She is 22 years old and was born in Gaithersburg, Maryland. She graduated from Northwest High School, and enrolled at the University of Maryland, Baltimore County. PFC Schubert left UMBC to continue her education at Montgomery College. She soon after enlisted into the U.S. Army.

    PFC Schubert is currently on a nine-month rotation in support of Atlantic Resolve. PFC Schubert began the rotation in Romania at Mihail Kogalniceanu Air Base, moved to USAREUR headquarters in Wiesbaden, Germany, and finally Storck Barracks, Illesheim, Germany.

    During the Atlantic Resolve Rotation, PFC Schubert scored a 295 on her November, 2019 Army Physical Fitness Test. She continuously exercises on her own time, as it is a hobby, which also benefits her personally and professionally. PFC Schubert qualified for the German Armed Forces Proficiency Badge for weapons proficiency in silver. She also completed convergence training and became a Mass Communications Specialist (46S) in October, 2019. PFC Schubert received a commendation for her coverage of SHARP events by the SHARP program manager in Wiesbaden, Germany. PFC Schubert also received an award from the Georgian military, signed by U.S. Army Col. Baker, Exercise Co-Director for Agile Spirit 19, for her work covering multinational exercise Agile Spirit 19 in August, 2019.

    During this rotation, PFC Schubert taught classes on equipment and editing software. She taught a class on Adobe Lightroom to public affairs teams in Romania and in Germany. PFC Schubert published 167 photos, 25 videos and 19 stories during her time providing public affairs support in Germany, Latvia, Georgia, Croatia and Romania. PFC Schubert had multiple stories picked up by Army.mil, U.S Army Europe, and various U.S. and international media outlets. PFC Schubert collaborated with her fellow Soldiers, demonstrating her willingness to work together as a team by creating products with a mixture of her photos and her teammates’ photos. During her time in Romania, PFC Schubert volunteered at a senior center for the Easter holiday, helping seniors with crafts and participating in a cultural exchange through stories and dance. PFC Schubert picked up the extra duty as Environmental NCO, where she came in on the weekend to edit the unit’s Environmental SOP.

    PFC Schubert attended the Defense Information School at Fort Meade, Maryland for AIT. She graduated as a Public Affairs Specialist (46Q). She was a team leader and maintained order and discipline during GI parties, a time allotted for Soldiers to clean the barracks, and created tasks for her Soldiers. PFC Schubert maintained a 299 PT score within AIT. During Basic Training, PFC Schubert completed Combatives Level 1 qualification.
