DFAS Texarkana welcomed a new director during assumption of leadership ceremonies held June 6.

Jana Haynie, former DFAS Limestone director, assumed leadership for the Texan site and was given the oath of office by Teresa McKay, DFAS director. Outgoing director Gene Kincy, site employees and local representatives of Red River Army Depot attended the event held in the site multi-purpose room and was video streamed inside the building.

During her opening remarks, Haynie thanked McKay for placing trust in her to lead the site and promised to maintain the solid foundation established by her predecessors.

"I would like to thank Gene Kincy and Mitch Covington whose leadership and dedication to DFAS Texarkana and Army NAF over the years will not be forgotten," Haynie said. "I take this position knowing that I am following in the footsteps of great leaders who made a difference during their tenure at DFAS Texarkana."

Haynie continued by saying that while the leaders have done great work it is DFAS Texarkana employees who have made the site the success it is today.

"Your teamwork and willingness to work together for a common goal is extraordinary," Haynie stated. "I'm excited and humbled to return to Texas to lead this fantastic team.

"I know the future will be exciting, challenging and certainly successful, together we will continue to achieve great things."
