PA National Guard Soldiers, Airmen help open the ABC Supply 500 at Pocono Raceway

55th Maneuver Enhancement Brigade, 28th Infantry Division

POCONO RACEWAY, Pa. – Soldiers from the Pennsylvania Army and Air National Guard held the colors of the different states of the United States before the ABC Supply 500 on August 18, 2019. About 50 Soldiers and Airmen from the 55th Maneuver Enhancement Brigade; 109th Infantry Regiment; 28th Infantry Division; and more, held the flags of the different states as the drivers for the race proceeded through the tunnel and were driven past the crowd.

Before the race, the guardsmen were given pit passes to interact with the pit crews, race cars, and more, to understand the full experience of the race. The service members were greeted warmly by the race fans, Pocono raceway employees, and pit crews, who offered thanks for the sacrifices they perform as part of their service.
