    Coast Guard, Honolulu Fire Department searching for missing man off Oahu

    HONOLULU — The Coast Guard and Honolulu Fire Department are searching for a missing man swept out to sea off Yokohama Bay, Sunday.
     
    “We are currently looking for a 19-year-old man who is described as 5-foot 11-inches tall and was last seen wearing black shorts,” said Petty Officer 3rd Class Austin Shaw, a Sector Honolulu watchstander. “We request all waterway users in the area to keep a sharp lookout for signs of distress and to contact us at 808-842-2600 with any information.”
     
    Air Station Barbers Point MH-65 Dolphin Helicopter and Station Honolulu 45-Foot Response Boat-Medium crews are conducting searches of the area. The crew of the Coast Guard Cutter William Hart (WPC 1134) is also en-route to assist.
     
    Just before sunset, Sector Honolulu watchstanders received a report from the Honolulu Fire Department stating a man and woman were swept off the rocks by a wave off Yokohama Bay. The Honolulu Fire Department deployed Jet ski operators from Ocean Safety And Lifeguard Services and a helicopter crew to search the area.
     
    Sector Honolulu watchstanders issued an Urgent Marine Information Broadcast (UMIB) Notice to mariners and deployed the Dolphin, RB-M, and William Hart crews to assist in the search. 

    Honolulu Fire Department crews located the woman and brought her to shore. Her medical condition is unknown at this time. The man remains missing. 
     
    Weather on scene is reportedly winds of 20 mph and seas up to 2 feet.
