JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Fleet Readiness Center Southeast in collaboration with St. Johns River State College will be accepting applications for a trades apprenticeship program beginning on Nov.1 and ending Dec. 30.
“We’re looking for a new generation of employees who are seeking a stable, profitable career,” said FRCSE Commanding Officer Col. Fred Schenk. “This is a chance for people to learn a skilled trade, contribute to the defense of our country and get paid while they do it.”
This unique work/study opportunity will teach necessary skills in a classroom setting as well as through on-the-job style training. Those selected for the apprenticeship program are paid while in school and tuition and fees are paid by FRCSE. Additionally, those who successfully finish the program will earn a college credit certificate as an Engineering Technology Support Specialist, and, upon completion, are guaranteed a position at FRCSE.
In order to apply for this opportunity, applicants must have a high school diploma or equivalent, pass an evaluation that is proctored through St. Johns River College, have an up-to-date resume and they must apply and submit all required documentation through USAJobs.org. Candidates must complete the application process on USAJobs and pass the assessment to be considered.
