    Fort Knox

Major Gen. John Evans Jr., U.S. Army Cadet Command and Fort Knox commanding general, and Col. CJ King, U.S. Army Garrison commander, joined other Fort Knox leaders Nov. 4 at the Red Cross’s Santa’s Workshop, Candy Lane and Helping Hands programs’ open house to learn more about the programs and Soldier eligibility.

Santa’s Workshop provides new toys to eligible DEERS-enrolled children of financially challenged military Families. Candy Lane affords selected children the opportunity to choose gifts for their parents, which are then wrapped for them by volunteers. Helping Hands provides Army Families with necessary food and clothes.

Applications for Santa’s Workshop are due by Nov. 15, and Shopping Week will be held Dec. 2-6. Applications can be found at the Red Cross Office on 1131 5th Ave. at Fort Knox. Contact Karly Gadell at 618-978-2972 for more information.
