JOINT BASE MCGUIRE-DIX-LAKEHURST, N.J. – The U.S. Army Reserve’s Atlantic Training Division welcomed its new commander during a change-of-command ceremony Oct. 19 at Timmermann Center, here.

Brig. Gen. Rodney Faulk, who was promoted to major general following the ceremony, relinquished command to Col. Carlos Wiley.

“Brigadier General Faulk lives the seven Army Values,” said Maj. Gen. Steven Ainsworth, commanding general of the U.S. Army Reserve’s 84th Training Command and presiding official for the ceremony. “You train (Soldiers) and increase Army Reserve readiness every day.”

The Atlantic Training Division conducts battalion-level-and-higher mission command staff training for U.S. Army Reserve forces in support of the Army Reserve Training Strategy and Army Component Forces when directed to support post-mobilization training for Overseas Contingency Operations and foreign militaries.

“As I leave the Atlantic Training Division, I want to recognize the great work by Atlantic Division Soldiers in collaboration with all our exercise partners over the past three-and-a-half years,” said Faulk, who said the division planned, coordinated and executed one Warrior Exercise, two Combat Support Training Exercises, three Guardian Response Exercises and 12 command-post exercises supporting 20 separate headquarters during his tenure.

“This training directly impacted thousands of Soldiers and dozens of headquarters,” said Faulk, a Battle Creek, Michigan native who served two tours in Iraq. “Your accomplishments are significant and indispensable, improving the combat readiness of America’s Army Reserve.

“You accomplished all this with leadership, energy and excellence in execution,” he added.
