Marine Corps Air Station Cherry Point

U.S. Marine Corps Lance Cpl. Paul Anthony Jr., a passenger clerk assigned to Headquarters and Headquarters Squadron (H&HS) at Marine Corps Air Station (MCAS) Cherry Point, North Carolina, was recognized as the Military Person of the Quarter by the Havelock Military Affairs Committee Oct. 22, 2019. Anthony was recognized for volunteering in the Havelock community dedicating over 680 hours of service.
Anthony dedicates his time to the MCAS Cherry Point chapel, practicing with the choir, providing technical support and music, and assisting with different weekly events. Anthony also volunteers at the Tucker Creek Middle School by assisting with classroom construction, serving as a show choreographer, and directing the choir during different events.
Along with local community service, Anthony also serves as the vice president for the MCAS Cherry Point Motorcycle Mentorship Program, a rifleman in the MCAS Cherry Point H&HS Color Guard, and is working towards introducing an evening service with the chapel.
Lance Cpl. Anthony sets the example both in the civilian community and within the Marine Corps. He consistently earns a first class score on his physical fitness and combat fitness tests, qualifies as an expert on the rifle range, and has 14 letters of appreciation. Anthony was meritoriously promoted to lance corporal along with competing for the Marine of the Quarter title. He serves as the noncommissioned officer in charge in the absence of the billet holder and is currently working on his associate’s degree through National University.
