Command teams from the 621st Contingency Response Wing gathered together for a Leadership Summit at Tommy B's Community Center here Oct. 2-4.

The event brought together leaders from both coasts for two days of activities designed to build cohesion and address issues affecting the wing.

“We are excited to bring our wing leadership teams together in the midst of a remarkably busy season,” said Col. Doug Jackson, 621st CRW commander. “This event is important to the effectiveness of our wing, because it will help us build relationships and unit cohesion, as well as develop innovative methods to better care for our mission, Airmen, and families.”

The agenda included workshops led by Col. Jackson and Chief Master Sgt. Tony Jenkins, group discussions on safety, self-assessment programs, resiliency and other hot topics.

Retired Air Force Col. Rich Tatum, former KC-135 pilot and Arbinger Institute senior consultant, delivered the keynote address on culture and mindset dynamics.

Jackson also unveiled his priorities for the wing’s evolution: mission, Airmen, and families, and the wing’s new vision: “Always ready. Always resilient. Always caring.”

“It’s important for the wing commander to do this,” said Lt. Col. Richard Kind, 321st Contingency Response Squadron commander. “It gives us an opportunity to all get on the same page when it comes to what the wing is doing and where we are moving collectively as a team.”
