    U.S. Army Garrison Rheinland-Pfalz

KAISERSLAUTERN, Germany – U.S. Army Garrison Rheinland-Pfalz’s Headquarters, Headquarters Company welcomed a new commander during a change of command ceremony Oct. 4 at Kazabra Club, Vogelweh.

Capt. Sebastian D. Armentrout accepted command from Capt. Stephanie R. Correa, who served as the company’s commander for the past 15 months and will fulfill the rest of her time in Germany as officer in charge of the USAG RP command group’s front office.

“The heavy responsibility of command changes you as a person,” said Col. Jason T. Edwards, USAG RP commander and ceremony reviewing officer. It’s an exciting and challenging time filled with triumphs and hardships, he said.

“Captain Correa, your work ethic and commitment to Soldiers will not be forgotten. The good news is that you’re not going far. You’re coming right up to the front office where we will welcome you with open arms,” Edwards said.

“It has been my absolute honor and privilege to serve you as your company commander,” Correa told the formation of HCC Soldiers she led. “I came to [Installation Management Command] not knowing much about how the organization was structured. After 15 months, I am much wiser thanks to each and every one of you. You are true professionals, and you are the reason why IMCOM is the Army’s home.”

Edwards welcomed Armentrout into the garrison earlier this year as an executive assistant in the front office.

“Captain Armentrout, I immediately picked up on your can-do attitude and willingness to learn. It is great to see another leader committed to making the lives of Soldiers and families better every day, and I look forward to you continuing to improve and grow, taking initiative and being the leader that our Soldiers need and require,” Edwards said to the incoming commander.

Armentrout attended the University of Tampa where he commissioned through the Reserve Officers Training Corps and graduated with a bachelor’s degree in mathematics. During his military career, he served in several capacities to include distribution platoon leader, transportation officer in charge and S3 operations officer. His most recent assignment was logistics officer in charge for the 39th Transportation Battalion, 16th Sustainment Brigade.

Armentrout thanked the garrison commander for the opportunity to come early to the garrison and learn how things work from the front office. He said the experience was “invaluable in continuing to strengthen the HHC and support USAG Rheinland-Pfalz.”

“I’m ready to get started and continue working with everyone here at the garrison. Now it’s time to put everything I’ve learned to good use and command this company,” Armentrout said.
