    Story by Sgt. LaShic Patterson

    2d Cavalry Regiment

VILSECK, Germany - The 2d Cavalry Regiment will participate in Dragoon Ready 20, a 7th Army Training Command-led exercise conducted in Grafenwoehr Training Area, Amberg Training Area and Hohenfels Training Area, Germany, beginning Oct. 22, 2019.

U.S. Army Soldiers from 2CR will conduct a tactical road march consisting of more than 1,000 Stryker vehicle variants and other military vehicles. Local residents can expect military vehicle convoys between the Grafenwoehr Training Area and Hohenfels Training Area Oct. 28-31, 2019.

Drivers should anticipate increased traffic delays and are encouraged to exercise caution on each day when driving near military vehicle convoys.

By implementing lessons learned from exercise Saber Junction 19 to better prepare for combat operations in the European theater, DR20 will provide 2CR with the opportunity to enhance readiness, to certify in the NATO combat readiness evaluation and to conduct unified land operations, including a combination of offensive, defensive and stability missions. The ULO will include a combination of offensive, defensive and stability missions while working alongside NATO allies, France and the United Kingdom.

2CR will also validate in proficiency for mission essential tasks to include conducting expeditionary deployment operations, area defense and security. DR20 training exercises will consist of an emergency deployment readiness exercise, a multinational combined arms live-fire exercise, a field artillery table 18, a force-on-force field training exercise and a brigade-level fire coordination exercise.
