Sailors from U.S. Fleet Cyber Command/U.S. 10th Fleet (FCC/C10F) participated in a community relations (COMREL) event at the Chesapeake Children’s Museum in Annapolis, Md., June 27.

During the COMREL, five FCC/C10F Sailors landscaped and cleaned up around the Chesapeake Children’s Museum during the Junior Enlisted Association (JEA) sponsored event.

“Today we made a couple new nature trails, cleared out the paths, sprayed for poison ivy and removed a ton of glass from the trails,” said Information Systems Technician 2nd Class Luis Casillas, assigned to FCC/C10F.

Founded in 1994, the Chesapeake Children's Museum creates an environment of discovery about oneself, the peoples, the technologies, and the ecology of the Chesapeake Bay area.

Volunteer projects like this allow Sailors to reach out to and be a part of the surrounding community.

“This is the second time we’ve come here,” said Information Systems Technician 2nd Class Chris Kiely, FCC/C10F JEA public affairs officer. “We do this to give back and promote the Navy. It’s important to support our community.”

FCC is responsible for Navy information network operations, offensive and defensive cyberspace operations, space operations and signals intelligence. Comprised of more than 14,000 Sailors, Reservists and civilians stationed across the world, C10F is the operational arm of FCC and executes its mission through a task force structure similar to other warfare commanders.
