    80th Training Command (Reserve)

The 102d Training Division held a change of command ceremony on June 22, 2019 here at Fort Leonard Wood.

The event was hosted by Maj. Gen. Donna Martin, commanding general, Maneuver Support Center of Excellence and Fort Leonard Wood.

“The Army always gets it right,” said Martin. “We are sorry to see Mike leave, but I know that he is the right choice for the 7th MSC and that Matt is the right choice to lead the 102d.”

Brig. Gen. Michael T. Harvey, the outgoing commander, will be taking command of the 7th Support Mission Command in Germany. He will also serve as a Deputy Commanding General to the 21st Theater Sustainment Command.

“To the Soldiers of the 102d Division, there are no words that would do justice to how proud I am and how privileged I am to have served with you,” said Harvey. “Thank you for the privilege of serving with you for the last 21 months.”

Under Harvey’s time as commanding general, the division has grown from three brigades to six. The division has also relocated three brigade headquarters, with another to follow shortly. These changes have increased the division’s training mission by more than double.

The incoming commander, Brig. Gen. Matthew V. Baker, was previously assigned as the Deputy Commanding General-Support, to the 416th Theater Engineer Command.

“I look forward to continuing the legacy of the 102d and continuing to improve in all areas of training and readiness,” said Baker.
