The 104th Fighter Wing congratulated 61 Airmen who earned their degrees from the Community College of the Air Force at a graduation ceremony June 9, 2019, here.

The CCAF is a federal program offered by the Air Force that gives enlisted Airmen the opportunity to acquire an Associate of Applied Science degree through the Air University. It provides Airmen with the opportunity to further their education while performing their military duties.

There are 71 specific degree programs which help Airmen capitalize on training related to their jobs and education in flexible programs.

Staff Sgt. RyAnn Parker, 104th Maintenance Group commander’s support staff and CCAF graduate, earned degrees in business administration, and in education and training management.

“It’s a really good opportunity to continue to build on your education and I think it’s great that the Air Force offers an accredited degree,” said Parker. “It’s a really good opportunity to continue to grow and I’m really grateful for the experience”

104th Fighter Wing members, family members and friends congratulated the graduates on their hard work and achievements.

“This is an unbelievable accomplishment and I know this will not be the last as you go forward and continue your education,” said Col. Peter T. Green III, 104 FW commander.

Green emphasized the value of learning and the advantages and opportunities provided by the Air Force to achieve educational goals.

Green and Marybeth Cooper, Springfield College president and the guest speaker at the graduation, spoke about the importance of education and how proud they are of the graduates for striving for their degrees while serving the Commonwealth and their country.

“You’re in a very different situation,” said Cooper. “It is awesome to me to see how much work you’ve accomplished. I know that it’s not easy.”
