REDSTONE ARSENAL, Ala. (June 6, 2019) – Mary Ann Brothers has worked at what is now the U.S. Army Combat Capabilities Development Command Aviation & Missile Center for 18 years.

A supervisory general engineer within CCDC AvMC’s Engineering Directorate, Brothers is currently serving as the aviation branch chief for the reliability, availability, maintainability engineering and system assessment division.

“The very best part of my job is the people I get to work with every day,” said Brothers. “The work we do to support our Soldiers is tremendously rewarding, and the commitment and dedication of my team are unparalleled.”

The Albertville native also serves as the technical authority and senior advisor providing leadership, management, supervision, and oversight for an organization of on-site and matrixed personnel supporting multiple aviation customers.

Through her work, Brothers supports the Army’s top priority: readiness. Her branch developed the Aviation System Assessment Program, which provides unbiased, actionable information for fact-based decision making. “ASAP is used as a guide to identify system/ subsystem maintenance burdens centered on reliability and maintainability of platform systems and components,” she said.

Brothers has a Master of Science in engineering with a minor in reliability from the University of Alabama in Huntsville. She has served as the vice president and president of the Society of Reliability Engineers, Huntsville chapter.

Brothers is a certified Master SCUBA diver, an ordained deacon at her church, and has served as the Farley Elementary School Parent Teacher Association vice president and president.

“I am humbled and honored to lead and serve such an extraordinary team. That is what inspires me the most!” Brothers said.
