Base leadership, in conjunction with the Bay County tax collector office, signed an intergovernmental support agreement June 3 on base.

Col. Brian Laidlaw, 325th Fighter Wing commander, and Chuck Purdue, Bay County tax collector, said the agreement signed will bring a fully functional tax collector office to base.

“Having a new office on base will eliminate the need for Tyndall personnel to use their lunch break or take leave to handle those matters,” said Maj. Ryan Davis, 325th FW community partnership liaison officer.

Aside from allowing Airmen more time to focus on their mission, Tyndall’s tax collector office will also benefit the surrounding communities.

“We’re planning for the future of Tyndall and the local community,” said Davis. “Having Airmen visit our office on base will free up lines at the Bay County office for locals.”

The tax collector office is expected to be in the Community Commons after it is rebuilt.
