    Story by Spc. Jermaine Jackson

    U.S. Army North

Since their arrival last week, soldiers of the 804th MCT have been working diligently to track, off-load, and notify incoming units that their vehicles and equipment, from the iconic Humvee to fuel tankers, are ready for pick up. Operating out of an area dubbed the Central Receiving and Shipping Point (CRSP) yard, they receive upwards of seven deliveries an hour from tractor-trailers.
“The Army wants eyes-on all equipment, where it’s going, when it gets here, and when it leaves,” said Staff Sgt. Michael Bellizzi, the noncommissioned officer in charge of the CRSP yard.
Their mission doesn’t stop there. They track all movements during the exercise from within the training area to all U.S. Army Forces moving on and off post.
“We’re a key element, things don’t move without us,” said Bellizzi.
This mission not only supports the overall exercise, it also provides a great source of training for the soldiers who are operating as if they were in a deployed environment, preparing them to be as capable as possible when they go overseas.
“We’re trying to simulate our operation as if it were a combat situation that way we’ll be ready when the call comes,” said 1st Lt. Riley Brewer, the commander of the 804th, “It’s also strengthening ties between us and the Canadian Forces.”
