    Army Expo in Pittsburgh at Point State Park

    The U.S. Army is hosting the first ever Army Expo in Pittsburgh at Point State Park, May 4th-11th, and invites Pittsburghers to come engage with Army soldiers in events for everyone!

    This expo is a part of Army week Pittsburgh and will feature performances by Army Bands and drill teams, a parachute demonstration by the Army Special Ops jump team, displays of the latest Army technology and fitness challenges. There will be 20 different participating Army units in 17 different events across the Pittsburgh area to connect the community with its soldiers, including the Dick’s Sporting Goods Pittsburgh Marathon. To kick off the week-long activities, Army leaders and Pittsburgh city government officials will join together for an opening ceremony held at Point State Park Saturday at 11 a.m.

    Army Week Pittsburgh includes discussions about the latest medical opportunities and collaborations between the Army and public/private medicine at The Center for Military Medicine at the University of Pittsburgh as well as the latest cyber and STEM innovations at Duquesne University.

    Here are some of the events happening during Army Week Pittsburgh:

    May 4th:
    • Opening ceremony at 11 a.m. at Point State Park with a performance from the U.S. Army Drill Team and a parachute demonstration jump by the U.S. Army’s Special Operations Parachute Demonstration Team - The Black Daggers.
    • Displays of cutting-edge equipment used on the battlefield and opportunities to meet your Army and Pennsylvania National Guard at Point State Park, just after the Pittsburgh Marathon 5K. You can even join in for an Army fitness challenge!

    May 5th:
    • U.S. Army’s Adventure Trailer outside the Pirates game at PNC Park on Federal Street! Game starts at 1:35 pm.
    • The Army salutes the runners showing up on Race Day! Be sure you catch the Army out and about on Marathon Day. Don’t be shy, come say hi and #MeetYourArmy! and get a #SelfieWithaSoldier

    May 7th:
    • Army Medicine Symposium at the Center for Military Medicine Research discussing the latest medical innovations at the University of Pittsburgh with sessions running from 10 a.m.-4:30 p.m. Please RSVP: tickets-59545475119
    • Don’t miss the U.S. Army at the Pirates game as the Black Daggers jump in to PNC Park! Game starts at 7:05 pm.

    May 8th:
    • Army Cyber and STEM innovations at Duquesne University from 9 am-Noon.

    May 9th:
    • Industry Social at 316th Sustainment Command Headquarters in Coraopolis from 4-6 p.m.

    May 11th:
    • Three Rivers Battalion Army Officer Commissioning Ceremony at the University of Pittsburgh’s William Pitt Union.
