First Strike says farewell to Talon 7.
This morning 1-502nd Infantry Regiment "First Strike", 2nd Brigade... said farewell to CSM Justin A. Connor and welcomed CSM Darren W. Pleskach during a Change of Responsibility ceremony at Strike Rock.
CSM Connor enlisted into the U.S. Army in October, 1996. He will now be retiring after his 22 years of service in the Army. His dedication and service to Strike will not be forgotten.
"The last two years while serving as the Command Sergeant Major for the First Strike Battalion have been extremely rewarding," said Connor. "From NIE and the Great Raid at Fort Bliss to the Atropian front lines during JRTC. This formation has demonstrated lethality at the highest level. From the EIB lanes to the numerous Eagle Flights, this formation never quit.
The battalion has produced 28 ranger school graduates, the highest in the brigade. We've had honor graduates at Ranger school, Air Assault School, Basic Leaders Course and Advanced Leaders Course. None of this would have been possible without the commitment and support of the Soldiers standing here in this formation."
CSM Connor received an award for excellence from the Soldiers, NCOs, and officers of First Strike.
Mrs. Allison Connor received a Certificate of Appreciation for her dedication, exceptional service, and support to the First Strike Battalion.
CSM Connor and CSM Pleskach have a long history of distinguished service in this division. CSM Pleskach recently served as the Strike Force operations sergeant major. Congratulations to CSM Pleskach and his family as he takes responsibility of First Strike Battalion.
