Naval Medical Center Portsmouth observed the beginning of Sexual Assault Awareness and Prevention Month (SAAM) with a proclamation and remarks from Capt. Christopher Culp, NMCP’s commanding officer, Apr. 4. Culp signed the proclamation asking all personnel and their families to increase their participation in NMCP’s efforts to prevent sexual assault, thereby strengthening the Navy community. The theme of this year’s Sexual Assault Awareness Month is “Protecting our people, protects our mission,” and the Navy Call to Action is “Make the Commitment.”
